DIVO®
The Retractable leash

Congratulations! By choosing DIVO®, you’ve opted for the core features of all Primenove products: quality, safety, and exclusive design.
General Description of the Leash (Fig.1, 2 and 3):
DIVO® has 3 unique functions:
LEVER LOCKING SYSTEM: To lock the distance between you and your dog, simply clench your fist. With DIVO®, the thumb is no longer needed.
HANDS-FREE USAGE: The original round shape is perfect to slip your hand and forearm through the handle hole.
OPENING HANDLE: The openable handle (Fig.3) allows you to secure the DIVO® leash to any fixed support without having to tie knots in the cord.
DIVO® consists of two main elements: a round, openable tubular handle (①) and a reel housing shell (②). DIVO® can assume two configurations: REST [Fig.1] and ACTIVE [Fig.2]. The ACTIVE configuration is for walking the dog. The handle opens [Fig.3] through a “swallowtail” shaped joint (⑧) [Fig.4].
Technical specifications:
Materials: Handle and shell in high-resistance, shockproof thermoplastic. Handle grip in soft-touch material. High-resistance polyester cord.
Cord length: 3.0 meters (118.11 in.)
Dog size/weight: Up to 45 kg max (99.2 lbs).

Carefully read the instructions for proper use, safety information, and warnings.
This symbol ![⚠︎] indicates that you must strictly follow the warnings provided.
⚠︎Warnings and Safety Information
Depending on the dog’s size and breed, the use of the retractable leash is not recommended for children under 14 years of age.
The DIVO® leash should only be used by people familiar with dog behavior.
Do not touch the cord (rope or tape) while it is attached to the dog – risk of injury.
Do not wrap the cord around any part of the body – if the dog pulls, there is a risk of injury.
Bring the dog closer and activate the braking system when near other people or animals.
NEVER open the reel housing – it contains a spring under tension – risk of injury.
Dropping the leash may damage the internal mechanism and compromise its function. Always check its functionality after such events.
⚠︎Before Each Use
Carefully read the user manual, safety information, and warnings.
Always ensure the leash is properly attached to the dog and check for wear on the cord, clip, and collar/harness. The cord is constantly under the pulling force of the winding reel. If the collar or harness tears or the clip at the end of the cord is not properly closed, the leash could detach, and its uncontrolled retraction could cause injury to eyes, teeth, or face. In such cases, drop the leash immediately.
Check that the handle is securely closed (see point 7 in the Instructions for Use).
Ensure that the dog’s weight does not exceed the limit indicated on the product packaging.
⚠︎During Use
DO NOT use the DIVO® leash with the handle open [Fig.3] – risk of malfunction and leash breakage, which may result in harm to the dog, people, or property.
The reel housing (②) can rotate 360° around its axis. Sudden reverse direction changes by the dog may bring the housing into the REST position, with a risk of finger pinching. In such cases, follow the dog’s movement with your wrist and arm to avoid the housing switching to REST mode.
Keep the leash short (check the legal leash length limits in your country) and under control in crowded areas, low visibility conditions, near traffic, children, bike lanes, or jogging paths – risk of harm to the dog, people, and damage to property.
Hold the DIVO® leash properly so that the brake system can be activated promptly.
Do not leave the dog unattended with the leash tied to a support. This may pose a risk to the dog’s safety, passersby, and may damage the leash.
Do not use the DIVO® leash while cycling, skating, skateboarding, etc., or when walking on icy or slippery surfaces.
First Use:
The DIVO® leash comes in the REST configuration. After removing it from the packaging and reading this manual, rotate the reel housing (2) 180° into the WORK configuration [Fig.2]. Before using the leash, familiarize yourself with the innovative cable length control system (lever brake for the retractable reel). We recommend gripping the leash and pressing the lever (⑤) with your palm multiple times while extending the cord (⑥) with the other hand.
At the first press of the lever, a “click” will indicate that the brake is engaged. In this state (without keeping pressure on the lever), the cord cannot extend but can retract. A second press (you’ll hear another “click”) releases the mechanism, allowing the cord to extend and retract freely.
If you keep the lever pressed with your fist, the cord will remain fixed at its current length – it cannot extend or retract.Leashing the Dog:
With the leash in WORK mode, shorten the cord to the minimum length. While keeping the lever (⑤) pressed to hold the cord in place, use the other hand to attach the clip (⑦) to the dog’s collar or harness. Done? Now you’re ready to enjoy your walk with your faithful companion!During Walks:
Always hold the leash by the handle (③) without pressing the lever. The leash automatically adjusts the cable length based on the dog’s movements. In certain situations, activate the brake and enjoy hands-free use by sliding your forearm through the handle hole.To Stop Cable Extension:
Clench your fist on the handle to press the lever (⑤) that controls the braking (locking) of the reel. You’ll hear a “click” indicating the lock is engaged. While the reel is locked, moving closer to the dog will allow the cord to retract automatically, but not extend, as long as the lever remains pressed. To Release the Cord:
Simply squeeze the lever again – you’ll hear a second “click,” and the cord will move freely again. To Shorten the Cord:
With the lever either locked or unlocked (but not under constant pressure), just move your arm toward the dog.Opening/Closing the Handle [Fig.3 and 4]:
The handle of the DIVO® leash can be opened to temporarily secure the dog to a fixed support, under supervision. Before opening, ensure the cord extension mechanism is in brake mode (lever pressed down). Then, slide the button (④) downward and push the upper and lower parts of the handle in opposite directions to open.
To close, align both halves perfectly – the safety lock controlled by button (④) prevents accidental opening. To ensure proper closure, push button (④) all the way up (near the swallowtail joint) and try to separate the handle parts in opposite directions.Fixing and Maintaining a Set Cord Length – to give your dog a set amount of freedom with a fixed cord length:
A. To Lock the Tape at a Certain Distance:
Extend the tape to the desired length.
Press the lever (⑤) [Fig.1] to engage the lock and prevent further extension, keeping the lever pressed.
While pressing the lever, move button T forward to position A [Fig.4].
With the lever locked and button T in position A, the tape remains at the set length, and you may release the lever.
B. To Unlock the Tape:
Move button T back to position B [Fig.4].
Press the lever (⑤). The tape is now free to extend or retract.
NOTE: What if you forget to move button T back to position B?
When you unlock the reel using lever (⑤), the reel’s movement automatically pushes button T back into position B, disabling the lock and allowing the leash to function normally without causing any damage.
Maintenance:
Keep the leash clean, especially in areas where the product has moving parts: the brake lever, the cable exit point on the reel housing, the sliding button, and the cord (tape or rope).
In case of rain, dry the cord with a dry cloth or let it air dry before storing.
For cleaning, use a damp cloth with water or substances that are safe for contact with the materials used in the leash.
⚠︎Caution:
Do not use solvents or corrosive substances for cleaning.
Keep the leash away from direct heat sources.
Do not use the DIVO® leash at temperatures above 55°C (131°F) or below -5°C (23°F).
Prolonged exposure to sunlight or temperatures above the allowed range may deform the DIVO® leash and compromise its functionality.
